#HSH Week 8: Group D Preview
The last group of #HomeSweetHomes final week is upon us and as always we preview the teams. AGF Esport, Complexity Gaming, Hard Legion ...
#HomeSweetHome is back with the fourth week of play and we are set to see a lot of new faces enter the tournament, with three of them straight away playing in group A! As per usual we will analyse the teams and make our predictions. ALTERNATE aTTaX, Ambush Esports, Hard Legion Esports and Salamander Gaming will fight it out in Group A for the two spot to the playoffs and a chance at the total of $40,000 that gets awarded weekly. Salamander Gaming is the only team who has played in #HomeSweetHome earlier, and they did so with winning their group last week, but getting knocked out instantly in the playoffs. Will they repeat that or will the newcomers stop them? That’s what we will try to answer below as we have a look at all four teams to make our final prediction. If you want to read more about #HomeSweetHome and the tournament as a whole head over to our event page! ALTERNATE aTTaX might not be the most well known team out there, but their results the past couple of months are actually quite impressive. They have gathered several series wins against Salamander and Endpoint, which makes the competition in #HomeSweetHome seem suitable. The Germans have also managed to get what on paper looks like the easiest group in the fourth week, which makes them an immediate candidate to grab a playoff spot.Slaxz, kressy and mirbit normally act as the most solid players of the team and as long as they can perform on their normal level even a group win seems possible, but make no mistake, that tells you more about the groups strength than ALTERNATE aTTax. If this team find themselves in the playoff for the weekend we still are counting on a quick exit. Ambush Esport was the last team to be announced for the fourth week of #HomeSweetHome and to be quite honest we don’t know much about this Danish squad. Since the team was assembled some three months ago the results are both up and down, with some wins in series against teams such as FATE Esports, but truthfully it mostly consists of losses against quite weak opposition. It seems Ryxxo is the one player who can give Ambush a chance most of the time, but this will most definitely be a tough challenge for them. Considering they have ended up in the weakest group and still look unlikely to have a real chance for the playoffs it should tell you all you need to know. However their opening best of one game against Salamander is impossible and if they could get an upset win to get the ball rolling anything is possible due to the group draw. This lineup was assembled in the autumn of 2019, with rAge joining as a trial in the beginning of 2020. Since then the team has quite a mixed bag of results and in all honesty not much to brag with, but the last couple of weeks has changed that. In ESL One: Road to Rio CIS the team has beaten Syman Gaming, Virtus.Pro and Natus Vincere themselves, which lead them to a shocking group win. It would be no exaggeration to say things things are looking up in the Hard Legion camp and the teams, by far, most talented player Forester is looking to take the next step in his career. This could turn into a time of success for the team and as they enter #HomeSweetHome for the first time they have been fortunate with the group draw. Anything but a playoff spot would be a real disappointment, but the team has shown some real consistency issues and we won’t take anything for granted. From group A Salamander is the only team who has previously played in #HomeSweetHome, and they did so by shocking most people with their performance. They managed to win their group ahead of teams like forZe and AGO, but the team would hit a cold shower against Complexity Gaming in their quarterfinal by losing 0-2 (4-16,9-16). Purely looking at that it would seem as if Salamander should have an easy time in this group, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. Torzsi and bodito had a great showing in their first week of #HomeSweetHome, but they need to keep that up, and most likely more to make sure they don’t get into trouble against ALTERNATE aTTaX and Hard Legion. Considering all available factors this three way battle is shaping up to be a really tough one. One thing is for sure - if Salamander wants a spot in the playoffs, the opening game against Ambush is, and should be, a must win game.
