#HSH Week 8: Group D Preview
The last group of #HomeSweetHomes final week is upon us and as always we preview the teams. AGF Esport, Complexity Gaming, Hard Legion ...
#HomeSweetHome and its fourth week is in full gear and in just a couple of days the playoffs begin, first though, it’s time for group C to play out today. As per usual we will analyse the teams and make our predictions. Endpoint, KOVA Esports, SKADE and SMASH Esports will fight it out in Group C for the two spot to the playoffs and a chance at the total of $40,000 that gets awarded weekly. Endpoint and SMASH Esports both return to another week of #HomeSweetHome after strong performances. They get joined by a familiar face in SKADE, who has failed to reach the playoffs in the two previous weeks. To round out the group we have the newcomers KOVA Esports, who are looking to make their mark in the tournament. If you want to read more about #HomeSweetHome and the tournament as a whole head over to our event page! Endpoint has been a solid force in #HomeSweetHome this far and their three straight playoff placings tells a consistent story. Last week the team got all the way to a semifinal, where they fell against the future champion, Complexity Gaming. Thomas, CRUC1AL and Surreal all had an excellent week and the team as a whole is growing in a weekly basis. At this point it is no surprise to see Endpoint going on deep playoff runs and with that little extra they might just end up winning it all eventually. Group C is quite challenging and Endpoints opening game against KOVA could become scary as the Finns have looked fairly hot lately and a best of one is always what it is. With all that said Endpoint still looks consistent and their players are in form, which should without a doubt lead to another spot in the playoffs, and on a good day they could even reach a final. KOVA is the only newcomer to #HomeSweetHome in this group. The team has been together for about a year, with a couple additions since and their results are respectable, but most of their accomplishments are from full Finnish tournaments. Lately the team has played in Elisa Invitational, where KOVA managed to win against North and Nordavind in best of one games, but later lost to Heroic and Apeks. #HomeSweetHome is one of the first international tournaments the team will participate in and ending up in a group with Endpoint and SMASH is a really tough challenge. The most noteworthy player in KOVA is the 17 year old Derkeps, who has shown big potential to become one of Finlands best in the future. If KOVA can cause an upset in their opening game against Endpoint they will have a fighting chance, but the chances of that are small and more than likely the fourth week of #HomeSweetHome will serve as practice for the future. After reaching the playoffs in the first week of #HomeSweetHome, SKADE has missed out in two consecutive weeks and on paper it doesn’t look any easier this time around. Both Endpoint and SMASH are two of the positive surprises this far and it is hard to justify giving SKADE a real chance against these teams. Rainwaker has been the player to watch this far from the Bulgarian team and while there is some future potential, it doesn’t look like this team can be a real threat right now. Even if we can’t count SKADE out completely it looks like #HomeSweetHome has another short week in store for them. After barely missing a playoff spot in the first week of #HomeSweetHome SMASH has won their group twice in a row and in the previous week they pressured BIG all the way to the end in their semifinal. The teams story this far in the tournament is a positive one and consistent improvements is the name of the game. While shokz and grux had a really good third week it is fejtZ who has impressed us the most. As much as the group is a tough one this week, SMASH has been there before and succeeded. With that said it is very likely we will once again see SMASH in the playoffs and maybe it’s even time to take the next step and reach a final. While that is still far away SMASH are on an impressive run and we believe strongly in this team, they have deserved it.
