#HSH Week 8: Group D Preview

The sixth week of #HomeSweetHome is underway and today it’s time for group C to enter the server. We see two veteran teams in Endpoint and Salamander returning and HONORIS playing for the second time with their golden legends TaZ and NEO. The newcomer for this group is sAw, who made it through the qualifiers in an impressive fashion. The four will fight it out for the two spot to the playoffs and a chance at the total of $40,000 that gets awarded weekly. Their four showings have ended with four playoff spots, which is impressive, but it has always ended quickly. Endpoint has now had a weeks break from the tournament and returns with hopes to end this trend of short playoff runs, and it looks likely that the team while once again reach the playoffs. Endpoint has shown enough skill and constant improvements for us to believe it could happen. CRUC1AL and Thomas are the two main players to watch in Endpoint and they succeed or die on the back of these two players most of the time. One thing is for sure - HONORIS, Salamander and sAw is not names that scares Endpoint and we expect them to win this group, but the playoffs could once again trip the team quickly, as the level of competition rises quickly. The two legends TaZ and NEO are back on the CS:GO scene and that’s a treat for anybody who’s been with us for a while! As fun as it is to see them back, as hard is it to give HONORIS a real chance to leave a mark in #HomeSweetHome. Last week they still managed to pressure c0ntact Gaming in the their elimination match, with a map win and another close loss. That’s more than we, and most, would expect of them and with some time they might improve further. STOMP and reiko looked like the two standout players for us during the previous week and when the group draw looks easier this week there actually is a possibility we might see HONORIS in the playoffs. It’s unfortunate they have to face the biggest threat, Endpoint, in the first game and more than likely they will have to begin their run with a loss. Salamander has replaced Áron "Aaron" Homoki and flashie replaces him. How this will affect is obviously hard to speculate in, but on paper the loss of Aaron looks like a tough one. After two great showings in previous #HomeSweetHome weeks, where Salamander made the playoffs, they fell completely flat last week as they lost their opening game 2-16 to AGO, just to lose their elimination game 0-2 to Hard Legion. Salamander entered #HomeSweetHome with a bang and we have to look at it as an overperformance at this point and with a player change it’s hard to see the Hungarians having much of a chance this time around. In our eyes torzsi is the one bright point of the team and when the 18 year old talent is on his best he can make both himself and his team shine. Considering the weak group they have ended up in here in the sixth week they still have a chance to make the playoffs, but it won’t be an easy task. A win in the opening game against sAw looks like a must, and sadly for Salamander we will go against them on that one. If Salamander started their run in #HomeSweetHome with a bang, it looks to end with the opposite. This Portuguese team with Spanish some Spanish flavour is one of the newcomers in #HomeSweetHome and they qualified through the closed qualifier. To get into the tournament they beat old familiars such as FATE Esports, Team Singularity and Ambush Esport and with results as such their chances should be fair in this group. MUTiRiS, stadado and rmn all had great performances in the past week and if they can keep up their momentum they should be stronger than both HONORIS and Salamander. As such their opening game against Salamander will be key in their first week of #HomeSweetHome, even if they most likely would have a hard time against Endpoint. This team is not an easy one to evaluate right now, but considering a lucky group draw we expect them to make the playoffs straight away in their first showing.
