Preview of Group A in week 7 of #HomeSweetHome

#HomeSweetHome Week 7: Group A Preview

#HomeSweetHome is back and it’s already time for the seventh week of play! The first group of the week kicks of with four veteran teams. Budapest Five is the previous Salamander Gaming lineup and they are joined by the three time champion Complexity Gaming as well as HONORIS and Nordavind. The four will fight it out for the two spot to the playoffs and a chance at the total of $40,000 that gets awarded weekly. Teams

Budapest Five

  • Patrik "bodito" Boda
  • Viktor “flashie” Tamás Bea
  • András "coolio" Fercsák
  • Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás
  • Kornél "kory" Szedlár

This Hungarian lineup changed organisation last week and as they have made their name in #HomeSweetHome as Salamander Gaming, we know have to get used to Budapest Five. The lineup has participated four previous times and their two playoff showings can definitely be seen as a success. This week they face Complexity, HONORIS and Nordavind. Looking at it beforehand would suggest Budapest Five will have to fight with Nordavind for the second place in the group and that is by no means impossible for the Hungarians. Lately coolio and kory has been the bright spots of the team, while torzsi has been falling off from his previous good form. If the team is going to beat their old record in #HomeSweetHome especially torzsi has to find his form again, but the first goal should be to reach playoffs and that won’t be an easy task.

Complexity Gaming

  • Valentin "poizon" Vasilev
  • Owen "oBo" Schlatter
  • Benjamin "blameF" Bremer
  • Will "RUSH" Wierzba
  • Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke

There is not much left to say about Complexity, besides them being an absolute dominant force in #HomeSweetHome. Three titles in as many times tells you the whole story and the team has been excellent this far. BlameF and k0nfig might be the two stars of Complexity this far, but the whole team is functioning very well and they all deserve the praise. The only bad thing to say about the team is that they have had a tendency to lose the best of one opening game, which has always put them in a tough spot. This week HONORIS is the opponent and we can’t find a single reason for why Complexity would stumble once again and honestly Complexity should win the group easily and in the playoffs they will be a favourite to go all the way no matter what.

HONORIS

  • Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas
  • Filip “NEO” Kubski
  • Daniel “STOMP” Płomiński
  • Kamil “reiko” Cegiełko
  • Wojciech “Prism” Zięba

In their two previous showings in #HomeSweetHome HONORIS has ended up last in their group both times. WIth that said they have put up a bigger fight than most would have expected and maybe it’s time for them to finally grab their first win this week? It’s not impossible as TaZ and NEO together with their three adepts have shown themselves to at least be a very real threat this far. It is however very, very unlikely we will get to see the two legends in the playoffs of the tournament and this group on paper looks far too tough for that to happen. After a likely loss in the opening game to the three time champion Complexity, Nordavind or Budapest Five awaits in the elimination match and if HONORIS can show up on their absolute best they might get a win, which would be a success for the team in our eyes.

Nordavind

  • Jesper "tenzki" Plougmann
  • Jørgen "cromen" Robertsen
  • Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen
  • Kevin "HS" Tarn
  • Haris "H4RR3" Hadžić

With five previous weeks of #HomeSweetHome behind them and only two playoff showings, it’s fair to say that Nordavind has been a disappointment this far. It is also fairly surprising their record is that weak as the team does show brilliance every now and then. Honestly Nordavind could perform an upset win against most teams in #HomeSweetHome, but the consistency simply isn’t there and they often fumble against the weaker teams as well, which results in missed playoffs. The likelihood of that happening once again is big as Budapest Five is far from a joke and the second place in this group should be between the two. As such the opening game will mean a lot for Nordavind to make this week a success. It’s tough to call it one way or another between the Norwegians and Hungarians, but if we had to go with one or the other right now we would still have to give Nordavind the smallest of edges.
