LPL Spring 2020 Week 3 Review
The Chinese LPL League has been on pause for more than a month due to Korona and now the league is catching up on schedule. When LEC and LCS play twenty individual matches during a week, LPL's weekly program will have the same number of the best of three sets of matches. This means that LPL can be enjoyed every day for two or three sets of matches. More information about the league and its teams can be found on the Tournament page.
The clear success of Week 3 was the reigning world champion FunPlus Phoenix, who, after a very volatile start, grabbed three wins in two straight matches. Team WE, Suning and Royal Never GIve Up fell under the FPX roll. Team WE and Suning aren't the sharpest in the league, but RNG is one of them. Three really convincing and quick wins promise really good advance favorites. Invictus Gaming also played one convincing week, winning both LGD Gaming and Top Esports.
At the other end of the table, Dominus Esports and Victory Five continued their losing streak. Victory Five won one map victory in three of their matches, while Dominus was completely zero in two matches. Victory Five has now played six matches without losing all of them. Dominus has won one match out of seven he has played. Of the top teams, Royal Never Give Up played a catastrophic week, losing first to Vici Gaming on two maps and ending the week with a loss to FunPlus Phoenix. 0-2 weeks drops one of the big advance favorites drastically down the standings table.
